ADAGIO is a cycle of paintings inspired by music and by the experience of a symphonic concert. The artist seeks to capture the emotions and energy that emanate from the orchestra. Rather than interpreting specific musical works or the oeuvre of individual composers, he focuses on the orchestra itself — seen as a living organism on the concert hall stage.

The cycle “Celebration of Polyphony” grew out of earlier paintings in which the empty theatre stage played a central role. In ADAGIO, this perspective is reversed — moving from absence to intensity, from silence to sound. The works are the result of a conscious artistic experiment and reflect a shift in the artist’s approach.
