A solo exhibition by Cyprian Nocon - "Before The Premiere" - took place at Gemini Gallery from June 10 to July 14, 2023. The artist is known for his large works created with oil paints.
The title of the exhibition, "Before the Premiere," referred to Cyprian's recollections of an empty theater. The exhibition was a kind of reconciliation for the artist with the past. It displayed the journey (not necessarily an easy one) he had to undertake to reach his current position. By employing two layers in his abstract paintings, Cyprian crafted a captivating visual representation of the human experience. The first layer was realistic and depicted the established and orderly foundations of life, while the second layer, abstraction, represented distortion and destruction - symbolizing our internal transformations and external factors that shattered our peace of mind and previous self-confidence.
